The Next Gold Rush in Florida

The Next Gold Rush in Florida

The next gold rush in Florida will be this: People moving to North-Central Florida. This area is still, for the most part, undiscovered.

If you can buy land, houses, mobile homes in this area now, you’re likely to have something very valuable in the near future.

Florida is filling in. The counties that were once obscure are seeing development. Why? For a number of reasons.

The east coast and west coast of Florida are becoming crowded, so much so that “traffic jams” are more commonplace.

New Yorkers are Moving to Florida
People from Northern states like New Jersey and New York and elsewhere are moving to Florida, at the rate of some 1,000 people a day. In a recent news segment, realtors expressed that most of these people, who work in finance in areas of Boston and New York City, are drawn to Florida by the low cost of living, the beautiful weather, and the fact that there are no state income taxes.

All this to say, Florida, especially the east and west coast, with their beautiful beaches, are getting to be crowded. Incoming arrivals tend to have their own ideas and values and this can often create conflicts with those who have been residents for a longer period of time.

Another reason to leave the coastal areas of Florida is this: the hurricanes. Every year, or every few years, hurricanes arrive, bringing chaos and destruction to the coastal areas of Florida. Meanwhile, the north-central areas of Florida remain relatively untouched.

Old Florida Living in North-Central Florida
Inland counties like Highlands, Glades, Sumter, and Lake spells less traffic, more trees and parks, friendlier people, and an overall cleaner emotional climate. This is also an area where real estate prices are considerably lower than those counties that are closer to the ocean.
The move is all ready on, as people are leaving areas like Palm Beach County to find land that’s more affordable. As there are 67 counties in Florida there are numerous opportunities to buy inexpensive land in an area where growth is inevitable.

Soon, the incoming wave of people, along with the residents who’ve been living in Florida for years, will discover the beauty of North-Central Florida, with it’s traffic-free streets, easy living, beautiful farms, friendly people, and natural beauty, like the springs (Fanning Springs, Manatee Springs, Blue Springs, Alexander Springs, etc) and rivers (Suwannee River, Withlacoochee River, Itchetucknee River ) and state parks (Rainbow Springs State Park, Silver Springs State Park, Suwannee River State Park, Itchetucknee Springs State Park, etc).
